Hao Bui, M.D.

Experience: 26 Years

Pronounced “boo-ee,” Dr. Bui is a proud Bakersfield native whose journey in medicine began right in his hometown, where he attended William Penn Elementary, Greenfield Junior High, and graduated from South High School. He went on to earn his medical degree from the prestigious David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA in 1999. Following medical school, Dr. Bui completed an intensive eight-year training program in general surgery residency and a specialized fellowship in vascular and endovascular surgery at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center. Board-certified in both vascular and endovascular surgery, Dr. Bui returned to Bakersfield in 2007 with a clear mission: to elevate the standard of vascular care in Kern County. He regularly volunteers on international medical missions, providing life-changing vascular care to underserved populations around the world. As the founder of WHATcares, he partners with organizations such as Project Vietnam and the Hackett Hemwall Foundation to deliver care, equipment, and training to communities in need.

Tien H. Nguyen, M.D.

Specialty: Vascular Surgery & General Surgery

 

Dr. Nguyen was raised in Modesto, California, and later made Bakersfield his home. He earned his medical degree from the University of California, San Diego School of Medicine in 2003. He then completed his general surgery residency at UC Irvine, followed by a rigorous fellowship in vascular and endovascular surgery at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center. Dr. Nguyen is double board-certified in general surgery and  vascular surgery. With a strong foundation in advanced surgical techniques and a dedication to patient-centered care, he is committed to delivering exceptional vascular treatment to the Bakersfield community.

Sara Honari, M.D.

Experience: 16 Years

Education: Ross University School of Medicine 2009

Specialty: Vascular Surgery

Awards: Best Intern of the Year at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center

 

Sara Honari completed her undergraduate education at the University of Southern California and graduated with high honors from Ross University School of Medicine. Her education continued at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center where she was awarded Best Intern of the Year during her General Surgery internship. She continued on to her vascular surgery fellowship program at Maimonides Medical Center in New York and made the decision to move to California and join Kern Vascular Center.

Allan Capote, M.D.

Experience: 24 Years

Education: University of Manila School of Medicine, Fellowship at Harbor – UCLA

Specialty: Vascular Surgery

Dr. Capote grew up in a tiny island in the Philippines called Sibuyan. He obtained his medical degree at the University of the City of Manila, a consistent top medical college in the Philippines. After moving to California, he discovered a special interest in vascular surgery during his time as a general surgery resident and pursued to obtain a vascular surgery fellowship training at the University of California Los Angeles – LA County Hospital (Harbor-UCLA), one of the distinguished vascular surgery programs in California.

Dr. Allan Capote is a board-certified vascular surgeon currently practicing in Bakersfield, California as part of the Kern Vascular Center Group. He believes that having been blessed with the unique opportunity to serve others, every patient needs to be treated with dignity, respect, and compassion. Furthermore, he believes that everybody deserves to be treated with no less than the best of his abilities. He also believes that one of the key components in vascular surgical care is to properly educate patients regarding their illness.
